I’m really excited for everyone, I’m sure you’re all going to have the best time. After all the lunch boxes, rolled up handkerchiefs for touchball, crumpled garters for ten-twenty in our pockets in grade school, then all the intensity, excitement and memories of high school, we’re off to the world of profs, two-hour classes and breaks, and blocks. Congratulations! We all made it, and I'm super proud of you. Have a great first week in college. Feel the vibe. So you guys, don't forget to wear porma-ish yet comfortable clothes, to bring money for lunch, to pack enough pens and paper, to pray before classes start, to look at both sides of the road before crossing that circus of a street, and to bring facial blotters for your face. Hey, favor naman o, when we go out, can we go out during the day? I'm super having trouble with my parents lately. I don't know why they don't get it. But recently, they have not been getting it. I think they think I'm some wild rebel girl. Okay, not exactly a rebel chick, but you know those wild party animals in the movies? Like that. Huh. They keep telling me not to be influenced by American movies, but they're the ones who think I'll end up like one of those girls in tank tops, clutching cell phones with manicured hands, saying, "Oh my God!" every fifteen seconds.

Anyway, so I come home after cotillion practice, right? It's like, eight-thirty, and they call my cell. So I run up their room and they totally give me this "alabang culture" speech and something like "Palagi ka nalang late! Parang hindi ka babae! Parang hindi ka magde-debut!" yadayadayada. My friends were outside pa ha. My God. I don't get it. They're even giving me a hard time about the apartment! They're like, "O, you're just gonna go out with people there!" The reason I want the apartment is because I WANT TO STUDY. Don't they know I've got more sense than that? My God! Like, just because I've been going out more often than I usually do (well, duh, it's summer, right?!) they think I'm rebelling! Guys. Mabait naman ako diba?! Do you see any earrings? Do you see any streaks in my hair? No!!!

Cri and I were talking, and we've got the same prob. Our parents are like so amiable when our friends are around, like they'd love to be the ones to take us out, but when the doors close, oh God. And hello, it's the last week of the Taft people, and NOW they're acting like this?! Why?! I love my parents!!! I love them to death! Does going out at night change that?! I am still their daughter. I will always be their daughter.

so, I've been in a driving streak lately. I've been "driving" (if you can call using the golf cart driving!) the golf cart lately, and i drove a manual car for the first time today!!! Before I got in the car, I begged my brother not to yell at me (he yells when he teaches...when he taught his ex-gf how to drive, she was in tears...he taught me math that way and I actually understood the freaking lesson...I wasn't in tears exactly but I was pretty scared..astig talaga si Kuya!), and he had mercy and didn't yell at me at all! :) weeee. So I drove nga the car...I think it's a good thing I learned how to operate an automatic car first kasi I knew the basics. I could concentrate on the clutch thing, which was okay naman pala. *feeling* Magda-drive ako hanggang buwan...

ay guys, may SARS sa bahay ko!!!! I got my envelope from Li Po Chun, and I was like, "OhmiGod, yey, it's here--OHMIGOD, SAAAAAARS!!!" and then I high-kicked it. While our helper was holding it. Bwahahaha. :) I didn't hit her, though!

Ay btw, this early morning I cleaned my room to look for more garage sale items to sell. Lordy, I was up till 5:30 am! My nose bled na and everything, I just kept on going. Super senti! I found my first favorite book (aptly, Baby Sister) (*feeling!*), old profiles, old drawings, my first short story about first love (sobrang baduy niya! as in major! kadiri! I was like, ohmiGod....ang corny! feel ko back then I was so kilig na but now I'm just shaking my head in disbelief) and so much more. Wahahaha. And I was listening to Parokya the whole time! Oh gosh. I had forgotten how much Parokya rocks. Grabe. Super Parokya fever ako ngayon. :)

''Bling Bling'' Added To Oxford English Dictionary

The next time you and your pals coin a slang term to describe your latest bejeweled accessories, don't bet on keeping it exclusive. The linguistics "gangstas" over at the Oxford English Dictionary aren't "new jacks" to the latest "def" lingo.
The venerable definitions resource has already added other hip-hop-turned-mainstream terms like "jiggy," "breakbeat," "dope" and "phat" to the online updates of the 20-volume dictionary, and now it has started drafting an entry for the latest OED-approved term, "bling bling."

The term, which is used to describe diamonds, jewelry and all forms of showy style, was coined by New Orleans rap family Cash Money Millionaires back in the late '90s and started gaining national awareness with a song titled "Bling Bling" by Cash Money artist BG.

The rapper, who is currently promoting his new album, Living Legend, told MTV News, "I'm so surprised that that word has spread like it has. But I knew it was serious when I saw that the NBA championship ring for the Los Angeles Lakers had the word 'bling bling' written in diamonds on it."

And while BG once felt territorial about his much-loved term, he's since opened his arms to the slang's universal appeal.

"'Bling bling' will never be forgotten," he said. "So it's like I will never be forgotten. I just wish that I'd trademarked it, so I'd never have to work again." -- Minya Oh (MTV.com)

HELLISH CHOICE

A highly skilled nurse died and arrived before St. Peter at the pearly
gates, who explained, "We have this policy of allowing you to choose
whether you want to spend eternity in heaven or hell." "That's easy," the
nurse said. "I want to stay in heaven." "It's not that easy," said St.
Peter. "You have to spend a day in each place before making this
decision."

With that, he put the nurse on an elevator and sent her down to hell. The
elevator doors opened and the nurse found herself in a sunny garden, where many former friends and colleagues warmly greeted her. She had a great time all day laughing and talking about old times. That night, she had an excellent supper in a fantastic restaurant. She even met the devil, who turned out to be a pretty nice guy. Before she knew it, her day was over and she returned to heaven. The day in heaven was great as well. She lounged around on clouds, sang, and played the harp.

At the end of the day, St. Peter came and asked for her decision. "Well,
heaven was great and all," the nurse said, "but I had a better time in
hell. I know it sounds strange, but I choose hell." With that, she got
back in the elevator and went back down. When the doors opened, she saw a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. Her friends, dressed in rags, were picking up garbage and putting it into sacks. When the devil walked over, she said to him, "I don't understand. Yesterday, this place was beautiful. We had a delicious meal and a
wonderful time laughing and talking."

The devil smiled and said, "Yesterday, we were recruiting you. Today,
you're staff."

Even though this story isn't biblically accurate, it is a good illustration
of ho w the devil makes sin look good and lures people away from the true peace and happiness that only comes from a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I don't want you to be deceived by the tricks of the enemy. The devil will do everything in his power to entice you and make you think that living your life against the Lord is where the most fun will be found, but that is a lie straight from the pits of hell. Only with the
Lord as your leader will you find the true peace that He offers to all who
come to Him. (John 10:9-11) (Revelation 3:20)

There are many people who do not believe in Jesus Christ, but rather put
their trust in the big bang theory or evolution and believe their ancestors
were monkeys, but that's a shame because they are going to miss heaven and eternity with God. The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Trusting in yourself and intellect c annot save you and get
you into heaven, but only by faith and confession of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the Bible declares in Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."


Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Revelation 20:14-15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

1 John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say
that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Romans 10:12 -13 "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

John 6:35,37 Jesus says "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
